Art
As a musician and visual artist, my creative odyssey intertwines geometric shapes and improvised patterns, forging a distinctive dialect bridging drawing and music.
Archetypal shapes and a minimalist color palette define my artwork, embracing simplicity in a harmonious fusion. Each piece embodies the philosophy of spontaneity, where the absence of erasure births intricate designs, woven through an exploration-driven process. My artistic journey thrives on a constant dialogue between shapes and rhythm, mirroring the structured patterns and free-flowing improvisation akin to musical harmonies. Every stroke and line contributes to a cohesive symphony, an ode to the beauty found in unscripted creation, where simplicity and complexity coexist in a seamless dance of expression.
“Echoes of the Gaida: My Musical Journey”
At first, I was scared because I thought the Gaida was a live goat making loud, desperate sounds. But as I grew up, that memory stuck with me. The Gaida’s unique sound took me back to that moment—it felt ancient, pure, and kind of mind-blowing.
So, I decided to explore it more. I traveled across Greece, visiting villages where my parents are from—Thrace and Pella—to learn about the Gaida. This documentary is about my journey to understand this instrument, its history, and why it’s so fascinating to me.
Come along as I dig into the past, discovering the stories behind the Gaida. It’s not just about the music—it’s about the feelings, memories, and a connection that’s hard to explain. This instrument isn’t just a sound; it’s like a whole world of emotions and stories waiting to be heard.
